Fall Necklace
A beautiful autumnal color combination in an easy to make necklace. I added a rub-on transfer to the focal piece to make it more unique. The focal piece is suspended from the necklace with a memory wire "bail".
Materials:
Tools:
- Focal Piece
- 14 8mm Glass Bicones in fall colors
- 18 6mm Glass Bicones in fall colors
- 35 6mm round Mother of Pearl beads, grey
- About 20 3mm Czech crystal beads in topaz
- About 3-5 Amber chips
- Dark grey Japanese seed beads
- 2 crimp beads
- 2 crimp bead covers
- Clasp of your choice
- Bead Stringing Wire
- Ring size memory wire.
Tools:
- Memory Wire Cutters
- Crimping Pliers
- Round Nose Pliers
- Bent Nose Pliers
- Nail Clippers
Step 1: Use memory wire cutters to trim a piece of ring-size memory wire to about 5 loops in length. Make a loop at one end.
Step 2: String seed beads, 3mm crystals and amber chips onto the the memory wire in a random pattern. Stop when there is about 1/4 inch of memory wire left. Pull the end of the memory wire tightly, bend with bent nose pliers and make a loop.
Step 3: Slide the memory wire bail onto the focal piece and set aside.
Step 4: Right onto the spool of beading wire, string a crimp bead followed by 10 grey beads alternating with 9 6mm crystals (as shown).
Step 5: String on 7 8mm crystals separated by grey mother of pearl beads.
Step 6: String on 3 mother of pearl beads and slide the focal piece over them.
Step 7: String beads to mirror the other side of the necklace.
Step 8: Slide the clasp onto the end and crimp. Slide all of the beads to the end of the necklace and leaving about 1 1/2 inches of beading wire on the other end, cut from the spool with nail clippers. Crimp the other end and trim excess wire.
Step 9: (Optional) Cover the crimp beads with crimp covers.
