Grey Mini Tiara
Inspired by Gothic Lolita, a charming little tiara made with grey vitrail czech crystal beads. Although it may look a little complicated, it is an easy project that just involves simple wirework. The finished tiara can be pinned into the hair style by inserting bobby pins through the memory wire loops.
Materials:
Tools:
- 4mm Vitrail Czech Firepolish Crystal, 119 beads
- Bracelet Memory Wire
- 28 Gauge silver-colored wire, about 3ft
Tools:
- Memory Wire Cutters
- Round Nose Pliers
- Bent Nose Pliers
- Wire Cutters
Step 1: Use memory wire cutters to cut a piece of bracelet memory wire. Cut 1 entire loop plus 1/4 inch.
Step 2: With the bent nose pliers, bend on end at angle leaving about 1/4 inch of wire. Make a loop.
Step 3: String on 34 beads and make a loop at the other end following the previous step. The beads should have a gap of about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch from the loop. You need the space for wire wrapping. Wrap one end of the 28 gauge wire around the memory wire 3-4 times.
Step 4: Slide 5 beads onto the wire. Wrap the 28 gauge wire around the memory wire twice and pass the wire back through the last 2 beads strung. Take care not to bend the wire too much.
Step 5: String on 7 beads and wrap the 28 gauge wire around the memory wire twice. Again, pass back through the last 2 beads.
Step 6: Add 3 beads, wrap the wire twice and pass through the last 2 beads added.
Step 7: Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you reach the end. Wrap the wire 4-5 times around the memory wire and trim any excess wire. Use bent nose pliers to tuck in protruding ends.
