Mother of Pearl Necklace
A beautiful mother of pearl necklace perfect for spring and summer. This necklace is a very simple strung piece only requiring a few beads and some stringing thread.
Materials
Tools
- 4 mm Czech fire polished crystal, Light Aqua
- 6 mm Czech fire polished crystal, Light Aqua AB
- 4 mm silver plated bicone beads
- Mother of pearl frangia beads
- Stringing thread
Tools
- Scissors
- Beeswax
Step 1: Coat the end of your stringing thread with beeswax to prevent it from unraveling. String on 11 4 mm aqua beads.
Step 2: String on 9 6 mm aqua beads.
Step 3: String on a silver plated bicone and 6 mm aqua bead. Continue this pattern until you have 6 repetitions.
Step 4: String on a 6 mm aqua bead and a frangia bead. Continue alternating for about 14 inches.
Step 5: Once you finish adding the mother of pearl beads, begin stringing to mirror the other side of the necklace.
Step 6: Make a surgeon's knot with the remaining thread and trim. You can cover the knot with a crimp bead cover to hide it if desired.
